It is a tight rope-walk for the Leader. He has to guide, build capability and create a readiness of his/her team for performance and yet be behind the screen all the time. He should not emerge suddenly after the successful performance of his team to steal their credit and thunder away.
The only time the leader has to emerge from behind the screen is when the team is not able to perform to the level of its expectation. He has to take responsibility when the team falters for actually it is his guidance that the team was following.
This is the kind of stuff aspirational leaders are made of. Great teams call their leaders on the stage to get due share of his applause after the audience gives them their standing ovation.
