Anticipation

Never has life been as uncertain as it now has become. Never therefore has the human competence of 'anticipation' assumed greater importance than it now has.

'Prolambano' is the original Greek word from where concept of 'anticipation' has taken birth. The core idea is to gain from - seizing the situation before hand. The idea of 'anticipation' therefore combines a forward-looking attitude with the potential for action, occurring when consideration of the future is used as a deciding factor in the present to impact its outcome...literally like vaccinating the future to protect from the impact of likely outcomes.

Human behaviour reflects a natural tendency to believe that the future is a baked pie - baked into the present, and is to a large extent inevitable. We refuse to understand and thus act in prevision of unexpected events or large-scale disruptions. Anticipation, by contrast, gives us that desirable capacity to treat the future as a range of possible outcomes, thus empowering us to make decisions in the present which can influence what may happen in the future.

Investing time in anticipating future challenges equips us to mitigate their impact effectively. By understanding the importance of acting ahead of time, we transform unforeseeable events into opportunities for innovation and resilience. By developing this ability to act ahead of time, we are freed to now consider aspects of our future as being malleable to creative forces and novelty — as long as suitable enabling conditions are predicted or known in someway, today.

You literally can take the sting away from the impact of an adverse problem if you have invested time to logically explore what could happen given the situation as a stimulus and taken necessary steps to insulate against it.

Unpredictable times are exciting. But they can be disastrous..also at times critical as also fatal. Insulation from its impact is the only way to survive out of it.

Anticipate. Anticipate for the insulation may help you survive. Procrastinate and for sure, you will write your own obituary.
