Blood Is Not Thicker Than Water!!

It is much later in life that I understood the value of the enquiry - 'Do you have a best friend at work?'. Until then I wondered as to why people searched for friendships at their work place ? Don't they come there just for work ?

It is only when you experience working committedly with others ... maniacally, driving to fulfill a common 'Purpose' that you actually start to experience the value and worth of very strong and deeply bonded relationships. One has to actually experience it to believe it.

Surface level connections based on general social links and routine events like travelling together from a common location tobthe work-place or having lunch in cafeteria together on the same table or going on periodic travel vacations etc are superficial rituals which do not necessarily mean a deep bonded relationship. The network emerging out of such superfiscialities are good to have and may even be of some help .... but that is where it ends. They are never permanent or strong. They are cosmetic and by dusk, they wear off.

'Purpose Anchored Work Systems' build sustainable blood bonds at the work-place that go a long long way. They are marked by achievements as a result of serious work done together at the work place, in pursuit of a common purpose. They become so reliable and dependable that such relationships become valued much more than even one's genetically inherited blood relationships.

The relationships that one ends building around 'PAWS' are very strong and they even go beyond the family bondings which are erroneously believed to be very strong. Ask an army man or even a corporate professional who may have handles critical adversities together or brought around some transformation in challenging circumstances. PAWS to emerge winning from the jaws of adversity is the centrifugal force to build such relationships.

Rightly it is mentioned even in the Bible to the effect that :

"The blood of the covenant is much stronger than the water of the womb." Wrongly and mischievously has this beautiful and deep quotation been grossly been mutilated in popular literature to mean exactly the opposite - 'blood is thicker than water'
