Empathy is symbolic of deep engagement in a relationship. Concerned expressions without genuine enquiry of well being is just an expression of concern and well-being of the other.
The anonymous poet has expressed this sentiment so beautifully.
So often real connections are victims of superficiality and are drained of authentic sentiments. People say emotionally meaningful sounding things and express heart rendering sentiments to convey their emotional state of feelings.
But that is where it all ends or should I say, it rather begins !
Superfiscialities are blown away by the first showers of the season and then the connected people experience solicitude. If unchecked, the rot sets in at this point and decay in that relationship is thereon triggered.
If partners in a relationship experience such a state, therapy is the main way forward.
Empathy is the weapon of the wise leader. Therapy is the soothing balm to bring relief to those who are hurt.
