Thunder Without Rain

Have you ever come across individuals who confidently express very strong opinions on a topic but lack the necessary in-depth knowledge about it? It's intriguing to ponder what drives people to take such firm stances on subjects without dedicating enough time to truly study and comprehend the subject ?

Thunder without rain is often experienced in Corporate meetings and discussions often at the loudest decibels. You too may have experienced it.

Never argue with an idiot for they will only bring you down to their level and beat you hands-down with their experience ! That’s how you deal with someone who is mindlessly opinionated.

There’s nothing an opinionated person likes more than shoving their unwanted opinion down your throat. If you do anything more than stand by and let them spout their BS, then you are playing their game.

Take your own ego out of the equation and resist the temptation to retaliate. Let them get on with it, empty vessels make the most noise.

Once they are exhausted and your silent nebulizer of their filled up chest of arguments starts working, they would then be open to listening.

Give your arguments one point at a time. Record it. Build a strong public opinion around the theme through other forums. Soon when they find the adamancy of their arguments counter productive to their expected roles, they will tacitly tone down and agree without saying so.

Do not hit them at that point. Let them believe that you have not realised their breaking-down. Subtly win your arguments without any victory processions. That's the only way to effectively handle them.
